Expandable Bench / Media Shelf
An old painter's walk plank serves as the top for this bench. It can also be used as a media shelf. The walk plank is a type of scaffold and it used to attach at either end to two ladders, like this. It allowed a painter to walk back and forth instead of having to constantly move a single ladder. The top expands to fit the needs of the job. It can stretch out to be 10 feet long. The bases are made from red oak with ultra strong doweled half lap joinery.
